Situation Report | Haiti #6
Project HOPE is delivering critical health and humanitarian assistance in Haiti’s Grand Sud region to address the ongoing violence and its strain on the local health care system.
Haiti continues to face a complex emergency and humanitarian crisis. In the capital city of Port-au-Prince, gangs are committing extreme acts of violence that are directly and indirectly affecting citizens. Many citizens have fled areas where gangs have taken over, leaving many displaced from their homes and in urgent need of humanitarian aid. The International Organization of Migration estimates that, in early 2024 alone, a record number of nearly 580,000 Haitians were internally displaced by the conflict.
